Trailer Dealer Management Software
Towmo is trailer dealership software that runs the whole lot on one set of records: inventory, sales, rentals, service, parts, customers and your website. We built it because I run a trailer dealership and every system I bought was built for somebody else.
One system, from the unit arriving to the unit leaving.
Everything below is included in the monthly price and running at our own dealership today.
Inventory
Every unit with VIN decode, photos, cost, floor plan and days on lot. Parts carry on-hand counts, reorder points and barcodes. Search for any of it from anywhere in the system.
Sales
Quote, order, bill of sale. Tax and fees resolve by state on the document. Nobody types them in.
Rentals
Fleet, availability calendar, agreements and deposits. Customers book online on your own site and sign before pickup.
Service
Work orders with labor, parts and shop supplies. They bill off the same record the unit already lives on, so the history stays with the trailer.
CRM
Leads and customers, with every order, rental, ticket and payment on one record. One screen, not four.
Your website
A dealer site on your own domain, built and hosted by us. Take the pictures on your phone on the lot and the unit is live on your site before you get back inside.
Payments
Cards in person, online and over the counter. Cards saved to the customer. Countertop terminals. All settled in the same ledger.
Accounting
Sales, rentals and service work orders invoice into QuickBooks Online, with the payments and refunds against them. Vendor bills and what you paid on them go across too. Your books stop being a second set of data entry.
Why general dealer software doesn't fit trailers.
We tried to run a trailer lot on software built for somebody else's business. These are the walls we hit.
Trailers rent and sell. Most systems pick one.
Car-dealer software has no rental side. Rental apps can't write a bill of sale. So a dealer who does both runs two systems and reconciles them by hand every week. I ran two side by side while we moved. Nobody should have to.
Your software thinks you sell sedans.
An MSO, a GVWR, and a state that may or may not want a title. A franchise auto system was never built around any of that. Get it wrong and the paperwork problem shows up weeks later, at the DMV, with the customer standing there.
Per-seat pricing punishes small dealers.
A four-person lot should not pay per login. It should not pay a four-figure implementation fee either. That pricing was built for a twenty-person franchise store.
The website is part of the system, not another vendor.
Inventory you re-enter on a website is inventory that will be wrong by Friday. Your site should read the same records your sales floor does. Ours does, because the site is the system.
Questions dealers ask us.
- What is a trailer DMS?
- A trailer DMS is a dealer management system for trailer dealerships. One place for inventory, sales, rentals, service, parts and customers. The alternative is a spreadsheet for units, a separate rental calendar, and a sales-tax report you do not trust. I have run that way. It does not follow the natural flow of the business.
- What does trailer dealer management software cost?
- Towmo is $499 a month plus a one-time $499 setup fee. That is all-in. Sales, rentals, service, CRM, inventory, parts and your dealer website are included. No per-user fees, month-to-month. If you only rent and never sell, there is a rentals-only plan at $149. Most of the category will not tell you a price. The ones that do charge per license and add an implementation fee on top.
- Can one system handle both trailer sales and rentals?
- Yes. That is the point of it. The same unit gets rented in May and sold in August without living in two systems. Revenue and availability come off one record.
- Will it work for a single-location dealership?
- Yes. We built it for independent dealers, not franchise groups. There is no per-user line, so putting a part-timer on the system costs you nothing.
- Can you move our data off our current system?
- Yes, and the one-time setup fee covers it. Customers, units, parts, your rental fleet, order history and service history all come across, with the photos and documents attached to them. You review what landed before anything goes live. I have moved my own dealership twice. You can run the old system next to Towmo while you check the data.
- Does it handle parts and service work orders?
- Yes. Parts carry on-hand quantities, reorder points and barcodes. Work orders bill labor, parts and shop supplies against the unit's own record.
- Does it connect to QuickBooks?
- Yes, QuickBooks Online. Sales, rentals and service work orders invoice across, with their payments and refunds. Vendor bills and the payments against them go too. Your accountant works from the books, not from a stack of exports.
- Do we get a website with it?
- Yes, on your own domain, at no extra cost. Your inventory and rental availability publish to it from the same records your staff use. The site cannot drift out of date because there is nothing to re-enter.
