Your fleet is your inventory
A rental unit is the same unit you sell. Same VIN, same photos, same service history. There is no second inventory typed into a booking app.
It can't double-book
Overlapping bookings are refused the moment the reservation is created. Two customers cannot have the same dump trailer for the same weekend.
Customers book it themselves
Dates, contact details, pickup, add-ons, the signed agreement and a card deposit. All done on your own site while you are out on the lot.
Agreements signed before pickup
The rental agreement, signed online by the customer, stored on the reservation it belongs to. No clipboard.
Deposits and card payments
Deposit by card at booking, balance at pickup on the terminal or the card on file. The card is saved for the repeat renter.
Early and late returns priced straight
Back early, the difference is credited as its own line. Back late, the extra is charged as its own line. The original booking stays intact, so you can see what changed and why.
Extensions and re-pricing
Change the dates and the reservation re-prices. You keep a record of what it was before.
Damage fees that reach the invoice
Somebody other than the person who raised it approves the damage fee. Once approved, it bills on the reservation. It does not sit in a note.
Rental apps and dealer software each solve half of this.
One half of the results rents things out. The other half sells them. Nothing on that page does both.
Rental apps can't sell a trailer.
They are built to rent anything: party tents, cameras, skid steers. They are good at it. None of them writes a bill of sale, handles an MSO, or knows what a trade-in is. The moment you sell a unit off the rental fleet, you are back in a spreadsheet.
Dealer software doesn't rent.
Car-dealer and general dealer platforms have no rental side at all. Look at the results for rental software and you will not find a DMS on the page, because none of them has one.
Two systems means two versions of the truth.
Run a booking app next to a DMS and a unit is available in one and sold in the other. Somebody reconciles it by hand every week. I ran two systems side by side while we moved. It is the job Towmo removes.
Rentals on their own, with your own website.
$149 a month if renting is all you do, and your site on your own domain is part of that, not an add-on you pay extra for. No charge per user either. It is also the same system that writes the bill of sale on the day you decide to sell the unit.
Everybody talks about renting. Nobody talks about the return.
Early returns, late returns, a bent fender, a customer who wants three more days. That is the half of the rental business nobody builds software for. So we built it ourselves.
Questions dealers ask us.
- Can one system handle trailer rentals and sales?
- Yes. That is the point of Towmo. The same unit can be rented or sold without living in two systems. Availability, revenue and history all come off one record. I should not have to message my website vendor so people can book a trailer, and neither should you.
- Can customers book a trailer rental online?
- Yes. They pick their dates on your own site, enter their details, choose add-ons, sign the agreement and pay a deposit by card. The whole booking completes without a phone call.
- What happens if a customer brings the trailer back early?
- The credit is calculated and added as its own line on the reservation. The original booking is untouched. You see the booked amount and the adjustment side by side. No number quietly changes.
- Can two customers book the same trailer by accident?
- No. Overlapping reservations are refused when the booking is created, including on the public booking form. The double-booking never exists in the first place.
- Do we take a deposit at the time of booking?
- Yes. Deposits are charged by card at booking. The balance is taken at pickup, on the terminal or the card on file.
- How do damage fees work?
- A damage fee has to be approved by someone other than the person who raised it. Once approved, it bills on the reservation and appears on the invoice. It is not a note somebody has to remember.
- What does trailer rental software cost?
- If you only rent, it is $149 a month plus a one-time $149 setup fee, and your own website comes with that. If you sell as well as rent, the whole system is $499 a month plus a $499 setup. No per-user charge on either, and no contract.
- Do we need a separate website for rentals?
- No. Your dealer website is included on both plans, on your own domain. Your rental availability publishes to it from the same records your staff use. You are taking bookings on your own site, not sending customers to somebody else's.
